I don’t know how April got here so fast. Winter just seemed to drag on and on and on. I launched a new product this winter (hello Urban Evergreen! It’s nice to finally meet you! 🙂 Urban Evergreen is going to be the home of my useful textiles products. Beeswax wraps, produce bags, kitchen towels, microwave bowl holders and whatever else I fancy that pops into my head. You can find the products & the Epic Oven Gauntlets on my etsy page: UrbanEvergreenCo.Etsy.com or UrbanEvergreen.ca which will take you straight there.
I’ve spent a big chunk of my time this winter working on an upcoming pattern for a festival skirt, which is almost ready for tester calls. I’ve also been working on some geeky fabric prints, which have been sent out for strike-offs in collaboration with a Canadian custom printing company. I’m really excited for these because I’m a geek for lots of things, and a book nerd too. These first prints are all D&D themed, and will be used in dice bags and probably leggings too. I can hardly wait until they get here. I will also have them available on Spoonflower, as soon as I get that figured out.
Spring is going to be a bit crazy. We move my youngest home from University for the summer next week, and then I’m off with my sister to a semi-local show (only 2 hours away). Together we do geeky stuff, under GeekyTendencies & Nerfblat bits. GeekyTendencies.ca is my sewn geeky things, Dice bags, dice trays, and other geeky stuff that spawns in my brain. This is a gamer con – held on May 4th ( a very star wars kind of day) After that I’m off for a couple of weeks on a road trip.
I’m hoping to remember to take some reusable bags, and beeswax wraps with me. That’s the hardest part I think. I love using them, I just never remember to have them on me when I need them. I guess that means I need to make more, so that I have some all the time, where ever I’m at.
Speaking of where I’m at – I’m all over social media. Lately I’ve been hanging out more in Instagram, though I’m on facebook a LOT, I don’t really do twitter. Here are my various Instagram handles, if you hang out there too: @pinthissewing @urbanevergreenco @geeky_tendencies
Live Long & Prosper peeps. Until we meet again.
